The Action Alliance (AA) governorship aspirant in Bauchi State, Hon. Musa Zubairu, popularly known as Sarikin Bakan Lushi, has promised to prioritise sustainable empowerment of youths, women and vulnerable groups if elected governor in 2027.
Zubairu said his proposed approach would move beyond the distribution of temporary handouts by providing beneficiaries with access to education, skills and other opportunities that could improve their livelihoods.
The aspirant, who was speaking during an interview with New Telegraph correspondent in Bauchi, didentified youth and vulnerable groups empowerment as one of the seven pillars of his campaign agenda, said no segment of society should be left behind in the state's development process.
He said his administration would focus on ensuring that young people and vulnerable citizens received meaningful support that would enable them to become self-reliant.
“We will ensure they are carried along,” he said, stressing that empowerment should be viewed as a development strategy rather than merely an avenue for distributing assistance.
Zubairu also identified education as a central component of his proposed administration, saying 60 per cent of his focus would be devoted to the sector.
He said the existing educational curriculum needed to be reviewed to reflect current realities and equip students with skills required in modern society.
Other areas highlighted in his seven-point agenda include security, healthcare, economy and employment, engagement with community-based organisations and infrastructure development.
The AA aspirant said he would pursue governance through continuous consultation with the people and relevant stakeholders.
He also expressed confidence in his grassroots political structures, saying his existing relationships with communities and supporters would help his campaign achieve its objectives.
Zubairu said his ultimate objective was to improve the lives of residents and move the state towards development in line with global standards.
