The Bauchi media community has been thrown into mourning following the death of Malam Abdullahi Sule, popularly known as “Madaki,” a cameraman with the Bauchi State Government House Press Crew.
Sule died in the early hours of Thursday after a brief illness. Reacting to the development, Bauchi State Governor, Sen.
Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, condoled with the deceased’s family, colleagues at the Government House Press Crew, the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and the wider media community.
The governor, in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mukhtar Gidado, described Sule as a hardworking and dedicated media professional who served with loyalty and professionalism.
According to him, the late cameraman played an important role in documenting government activities and ensuring their dissemination to the public.
Mohammed said Sule’s simplicity, humility, friendliness and peaceful disposition made him popular among those who worked with him.
The governor said the deceased’s death was not only a loss to his family but also to the media community and the state government.
He prayed for the repose of Sule’s soul and asked Almighty Allah to grant his family, friends and colleagues the strength to cope with the loss.
The funeral prayer is scheduled to hold at 9:00 a.m. today at Filin Barewa, opposite Maman Kapaya, Unguwan Kur, Railway, Bauchi.
