Officers and men of the Bauchi State Police Command on Saturday participated in their monthly physical fitness exercise as part of efforts to improve operational efficiency, physical wellbeing and mental alertness.

The exercise, held simultaneously at the Command Headquarters and across all Area Commands, Divisions and other police formations in the state, featured road walks, jogging and other fitness drills.

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, led the exercise alongside members of the Command's management team, senior officers and other personnel.

Addressing officers after the exercise, the police commissioner described physical fitness as an essential requirement for effective policing, noting that officers must remain physically and mentally prepared to respond promptly to security challenges.

He urged personnel to make regular exercise a part of their daily routine, stressing that discipline, good health and professionalism are key to effective service delivery and public confidence in the police.

CP Sani-Omolori also acknowledged the support of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for initiatives aimed at improving the welfare, fitness and operational readiness of police personnel across the country.

He reaffirmed the Command's commitment to building a healthy and motivated workforce capable of meeting the demands of modern policing while ensuring the protection of lives and property in Bauchi State.
