GCDSS 1993 Set EXCO Members to Contribute ₦500 Each for Ailing Members

From Nasir Shuaibu, BAUCHI

The Executive Committee of the Government Comprehensive Day Secondary School Bauchi (GCDSS) 1993 Set has resolved that each member of the committee should contribute ₦500 towards the medical needs and upkeep of an ailing member, Malam Abbas.

The decision followed deliberations at the committee’s meeting, where members considered ways to support Abbas during his period of illness.

During the discussion, Sani Sa'in Santuraki advised members to obtain Abbas’s medical prescription to enable them to contribute towards purchasing the drugs prescribed for his treatment.

Similarly, Sa’i Wakilin Sa’i urged members to extend their assistance beyond medication, stressing the need to provide other essential items, including food, to support Abbas while he undergoes treatment.

The committee also agreed to visit Abbas at his residence on Friday to offer encouragement, assess his situation and demonstrate solidarity with him.

The proposed visit forms part of the association’s efforts to support members facing health and other personal challenges.

In addition to the intervention for Abbas, the meeting listed further assistance for the wife of another member, Rilwanu, who is receiving medical treatment, among the issues for consideration.

The committee’s deliberations also covered preparations for the association’s proposed end-of-year ceremony, increased participation of women in meetings and the need to establish a sustainable source of income.

The resolutions underscore the importance of collective responsibility and mutual support among members of the old students’ association.
