From Nasir Shuaibu BAUCHI
The wife of Bauchi State Governor, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, has called for greater participation of women in political activities as the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed made the appeal during a stakeholders’ meeting with 20 APM women coordinators drawn from the 20 local government areas of Bauchi State and wives of the party’s candidates.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the women leaders to discuss ways of improving political engagement, strengthening party structures and mobilising support at the grassroots.
Among those in attendance was Hajiya Aisha Yakubu Adamu, wife of the APM governorship candidate, Dr Yakubu Adamu, alongside other women leaders.
The governor’s wife highlighted the importance of women in reaching communities and building stronger connections between political parties and the electorate.
She urged the coordinators to strengthen their relationships with women at the ward and local government levels, while encouraging peaceful participation in the political process.
She also called on the wives of the candidates to work collaboratively with the women coordinators in engaging communities and advancing the party’s objectives.
According to her, effective coordination, commitment and mutual understanding would be crucial to sustaining the women’s involvement in the party’s preparations for the 2027 elections.
The participants reaffirmed the need for continued collaboration among APM women leaders to improve grassroots engagement across Bauchi State.
