The Bauchi State chapter of the City Boy Movement has activated its state executive structure and commenced preparations for grassroots political mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The development followed a strategic meeting of the State Executive Council held in Bauchi and presided over by the State Director of the movement, Comrade Ja’afar Ibrahim Dass.
The meeting brought together members of the newly constituted State Executive Council to deliberate on the organisation’s political direction, internal coordination and strategies for expanding its presence across the 20 Local Government Areas of the state.
Addressing members of the council, Comrade Ja’afar Ibrahim Dass congratulated them on their appointments and charged them to demonstrate commitment, discipline, loyalty and effective coordination in the discharge of their responsibilities.
He described the activation of the Bauchi structure as a significant step towards strengthening the presence of the City Boy Movement in the North-East and expanding its grassroots network across the state.
The movement reaffirmed its alignment with the All Progressives Congress (APC), pledging to work with the party and relevant stakeholders at the national, state and grassroots levels in advancing its programmes, candidates and political interests.
The Bauchi chapter also declared its support for the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming presidential election.
According to the movement, its grassroots mobilisation strategy will focus on reaching communities across the state's 20 local government areas, wards and other grassroots structures, with particular attention to increasing youth participation in politics.
The chapter said it would also engage communities on the policies, programmes and achievements of the Tinubu administration, while encouraging peaceful, lawful and responsible participation in the democratic process.
The State Executive Council further resolved to strengthen the movement's communication channels, improve coordination among its structures and establish a framework for sustained political engagement as the 2027 elections approach.
The movement said it would maintain engagement with relevant stakeholders within the APC and the wider political environment while preserving the organisational identity and discipline of the City Boy Movement.
The State Director urged members and supporters across Bauchi State to remain committed and prepared as the movement begins its grassroots activities, noting that details of forthcoming mobilisation exercises and political engagements would be communicated through its official channels.
With its state structure now activated, the City Boy Movement said it was prepared to commence wider grassroots engagement and contribute to political mobilisation across Bauchi State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
