Bauchi Police, Correctional Service Strengthen Partnership on Security, Justice

The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, has reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to strengthening collaboration with the Nigerian Correctional Service to enhance security and improve the administration of criminal justice in the state.

The police commissioner gave the assurance on Thursday while receiving the newly deployed Controller of Corrections, Bauchi State Command, CC S.T. Atoyebi, during a courtesy visit to the Police Command Headquarters in Bauchi.

Speaking during the meeting, CP Sani-Omolori described the visit as timely, stressing that effective collaboration among security agencies remains crucial to tackling crime and sustaining peace across the state.

He said the Police Command would continue to work closely with the Nigerian Correctional Service in intelligence sharing, custodial security and other areas of mutual interest to strengthen public safety and ensure the efficient administration of justice.

Earlier, the Controller of Corrections said his visit was part of efforts to familiarise himself with heads of security agencies in the state following his recent deployment.

Atoyebi expressed appreciation for the warm reception accorded him and pledged to strengthen the existing partnership between the Nigerian Correctional Service and the Nigeria Police Force.

He noted that closer cooperation among security agencies, particularly within the criminal justice system, is essential to improving public safety, enhancing operational effectiveness and addressing emerging security challenges.

The two security chiefs reaffirmed their commitment to sustained collaboration, regular consultations and joint strategies aimed at preventing crime and maintaining peace and security across Bauchi State.
