By Muhammad Auwal

The management, players and supporters of Bauchi Deaf United Football Club have congratulated philanthropist and youth development advocate, Dr. Bala Wunti Maijama’a, on his birthday and his recent appointment as Chief Executive Officer of the World Energy Council, Nigeria.

In a congratulatory message signed by the Chairman and Team Manager of the club, Hon. Abdullahi Isma'il Ibrahim, the club described Wunti as a compassionate leader whose support for the Deaf community and youth development has continued to make a positive impact.

The club said his appointment was well deserved, noting that his record of service, commitment and dedication to humanity had prepared him for the new responsibility.

Bauchi Deaf United FC also used the occasion to renew its appeal to Wunti for support towards settling outstanding expenses incurred during its participation in the National Deaf Football Championship, Da Caleb Cup, held in Plateau State.

According to the club, the team spent 11 days at the tournament, during which significant expenses were incurred in providing welfare and logistics for its players and officials.

The club recalled that it had earlier written to the Bala Wunti Support Organisation (BWSO) on May 5, 2026, seeking assistance with the outstanding expenses following the team's historic victory at the championship.

As a gesture of appreciation, the club said it had dedicated the championship trophy to Wunti in recognition of his support and encouragement for the Deaf community.

The club further described him as a role model whose interventions had continued to inspire young people with disabilities to pursue their dreams in sports and other areas of life.

The management, players and supporters of Bauchi Deaf United FC wished Dr. Wunti continued success, good health and greater accomplishments in his new role.

“Allah ya ƙara maka albarka,” the club said in its goodwill message.
