APC Guber Candidate Distributes 10 Trucks of Fertiliser to Bauchi Farmers

By Ahmad Saka, Bauchi

The All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Bauchi State, Mohammed Abdullahi Abubakar (SAN), has flagged off the distribution of 10 truckloads of fertiliser to farmers across the state as part of efforts to boost agricultural production during the 2026 farming season.

The distribution, which commenced at the APC State Secretariat in Bauchi, is expected to benefit party members engaged in farming across the state's 20 local government areas, 323 wards and numerous polling units.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony, Abubakar said the initiative was driven by the need to support farmers, noting that agriculture remains the backbone of Bauchi State's economy.

He observed that more than 70 per cent of the state's population depends on farming for its livelihood, stressing that providing farmers with essential inputs would enhance food production and improve yields during the current rainy season.

According to him, the fertiliser was provided through the Tinubu/Shettima and M.A./Farouk campaign organisations to support APC members involved in agricultural activities.

He disclosed that each truck carries 600 bags of fertiliser, which will be distributed through party structures, including local government and ward executives, to ensure the inputs reach beneficiaries across the state.

Abubakar expressed optimism that the distribution would be transparent and equitable, while praying for abundant rainfall and bumper harvests.

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, who attended the event, urged those responsible for the distribution to ensure the fertiliser reaches the intended beneficiaries without bias.

Dogara commended Abubakar for facilitating the intervention, describing it as a timely initiative that would support farmers and strengthen food production in the state.

Also speaking, the APC Chairman in Katagum Local Government Area, Sani Bala, thanked the party's governorship candidate and other APC leaders for the gesture.

He also appreciated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for what he described as his administration's continued support for Bauchi State and commended the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, for attracting development initiatives and opportunities to the state.
