Warji LG Boss Hails Gov Mohammed for New Road Projects, Flood Control
The Executive Chairman of Warji local government area, Hon. Aminu Barmini, has commended Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed for a series of developmental projects that are directly impacting communities, notably solving a persistent flooding issue and opening up economic opportunities.
Barmini's praise came on Thursday during a tour of ongoing and completed projects for media executives and government officials. He stated that the governor was fulfilling his campaign promises to the people of Bauchi.
"The construction of this culvert has alleviated the plight of the people living in Dagu community," Barmini said. "In the past, flood destroyed farmlands, houses and properties, but with this project, incidents of flood have been reduced to the barest minimum."
He also highlighted the impact of the 19km Warji-Gwaram road, noting that it has significantly boosted local commerce. "The road has opened up economic and commercial activities in the communities because people now do their businesses with ease, unlike in the past where the reverse was the case," he added.
Other projects inspected include the construction of a General Hospital in Katanga, a new local government lodge, and the renovated palace of the District Head of Warji, Ibrahim Ismaila, who also thanked the governor for keeping his promises.
The sentiment was echoed by residents. Zubairu Mohammed of Dagu community thanked the governor for the projects, stating, "We have nothing to fear with the coming of the rainy season."
