Bauchi State Government has reiterated its commitment to returning the dignity and respect of the traditional institution as Fathers of all irrespective of ethno-religious background to enable them function independently. 

Consequently, the Government has embarked on complete renovation and upgrade of all the palaces of the Six Emirs in the State as well as those of the District and Village Heads. 

Speaking on the development, State Commissioner of Information and Communications, Usman Shehu Usman, after visiting ongoing works on some of the palaces in Darazo, Misau, Dambam, Gamawa, Zaki, explained that the aim of government is to ensure that the traditional institution was held in high esteem considering the honour bestowed on them by divine arrangement. 

The Commissioner who is at the head of Media Tour of ongoing and completed projects across the State, expressed optimism that with the development, the traditional institution will regain its lost glory. 

He stressed that, the Governor, coming from the traditional home, knows the importance of the institution in shaping the people, he is therefore concerned about its retrogression, a tide he is committed to changing positively. 

He said that, "The administration holds the traditional institution in high esteem, we have high respect for the traditional rulers and we want them to remain neutral, fathers to all, no political bias, no religious differences."

Usman Shehu Usman assured that every administratively possible will be done to improve on the welfare of the traditional rulers to make them respected and not running after peanuts from their subjects.
