From Nasir Shuaibu, BAUCHI
The Bauchi Forward Initiative (BFI) has said it is seeking a political leader ahead of the 2027 elections who will prioritise justice, truth, compassion and the overall development of the people of Bauchi State.
Chairman of the initiative, Muhammad Bello Abdulkadir, stated this while addressing supporters and stakeholders at a gathering in Bauchi as the group intensifies preparations for its political activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Abdulkadir said the initiative was interested in supporting a leader whose primary objective would be to improve the living conditions of the people and provide purposeful and responsive leadership.
He said those who had interacted closely with the individual being supported by the initiative would understand that the ambition to govern the state was driven by a genuine desire to serve the people and improve their quality of life.
The BFI chairman also called on youths across the state to embrace responsible political participation and avoid insults, abuse and character assassination during political engagements.
He cautioned that political differences should not be allowed to destroy relationships among citizens, stressing that political circumstances could change with time.
“Politics has no permanent season,”
he said, urging young people to maintain mutual respect and uphold peaceful coexistence despite their political differences.
According to him, youths have a critical role to play in determining the political future of Bauchi State and must therefore participate in the democratic process with maturity, dignity and a sense of responsibility.
Abdulkadir further disclosed that the initiative was mobilising support for a political leadership it believes would be just, compassionate, committed to truth and focused on improving the welfare of the people.
He expressed appreciation to political leaders and other stakeholders for their support, including the Minister and his representative, Baffa and his representative, as well as the Bauchi State Governor and his representative.
He also commended members of the media for their role in communicating the activities and objectives of the initiative to the wider public.
As part of its mobilisation efforts, the BFI chairman appealed to supporters and stakeholders to provide logistical support, including a minimum of three vehicles in each of the 20 local government areas of the state.
He explained that the vehicles would facilitate movement, mobilisation and participation in political gatherings as the initiative expands its activities across Bauchi.
Other speakers at the gathering expressed optimism that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would secure victory in the 2027 presidential and gubernatorial elections, as well as other elective positions in the state.
